This Jewish Journal article describes the journey of 18-year-old Jewish immigrant Leah Aks and her 10-month-old son, Philip, who survived the Titanic and, upon their arrival in New York, were aided by HIAS. The article cites a piece written by Valery Bazarov, HIAS' Director of Family History & Location, about the family and their dramatic immigration experience.
