The passage of Arizona's anti-immigration law has sparked much debate on immigration reform, and this past week has seen many articles and op-eds, on both the new law and treatment of legal and illegal immigrants. Here are a few worth noting:

JCYF ninth-graders donate to HIAS

As covered by the New Jersey Jewish News, last month HIAS was the recipient of a $1,900 grant for the HIAS Legal Aid Project for Priority Asylum Seekers. The money was donated by Jewish Community Youth Foundation (JCYF) ninth-graders at the March 7 JCYF Philanthropy Fair. Doug Edelson, HIAS’ associate director of institutional giving, was on hand to accept the donation.

Gideon Aronoff was quoted in this Huffington Post article about the sentencing of Sholom Rubashkin, the former CEO of Agriprocessors, the kosher slaughterhouse in Postville, Iowa where a 2008 government raid found hundreds of undocumented workers.
