Alina Fiskina recently celebrated her 20th year of living in the United States; HIAS assisted her family in 1991 with their emigration from the Ukraine. After graduating Boston University in 2003 with a degree in Business Management and Finance, she returned to New York City to work as an associate buyer at Macy's. For the past year, she has been serving as a Project Manager at Nonpareil Capital, a financial services firm in New York.
An HYL volunteer for more than seven years, Ms. Fiskina has served in various HYL leadership positions, such as Co-Chair of the Events & Fundraising Committee and Co-Chair of the Young Leaders New York Chapter. In an effort to advance HIAS more broadly, she recently assumed a leadership role in an important partnership between HIAS and RAJE (Russian American Jewish Experience) that promotes myStory. RAJE members submit first person immigration experiences to myStory as contestants vying for prizes awarded to the best writers. The contest is now in its second year. Ms. Fiskina also serves on RAJE’s Young Leadership Board and the UJA-Federation of New York’s Commission on Jewish Identity & Renewal (CoJIR) FSU, and was a member of the first cohort for Russian Jewish Young Professionals of New York City’s Council of Jewish Community Émigré Organizations (COJECO).
