Bahram Nour-Omid


Dr. Nour-Omid is a founding member of Shelter Capital Partners, LLC., a private venture capital firm in Southern California with investments focus in Information Technology. He specifically focuses on application software for Telecommunication, Health Care, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Business Automation markets. He has extensive executive level management experience with Enterprise Software Solutions companies such as CRM, ERP, Supply Chain Management Systems, and E-Commerce.

Dr. Nour-Omid’s professional career began as a consulting scientist at the Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory in 1982, where he directed R&D efforts for computational modeling and analysis of scientific and engineering problems using high performance computers.

In 1990, Dr. Nour-Omid co-founded Scopus Technology where he was responsible for all product development activities and served as Executive Vice-President, CTO, and a member of its Board of Directors. Dr. Nour-Omid later joined Essentus, Inc., a provider of supply chain software for the apparel industry, as Executive Vice President responsible for Product Development and Marketing and as a member of its Board of Directors. In 1999, Dr. Nour-Omid co-founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for StudioXchange, Inc., a provider of production site, labor and equipment procurement services for the entertainment industry.

Dr. Nour-Omid currently is a director of Roamware, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for the global wireless carrier market; a director of Kryptiq, a provider of workflow connectivity and contract management solutions for the healthcare industry; and Chairman of iSensix, a provider of wireless monitoring systems for Hospitals. Dr. Nour-Omid also served as a director of u-Nav, a fabless semiconductor company; and IDS, a Financial software company for asset management.

Dr. Nour-Omid earned a B.S. from the University of London’s Imperial College, an M.S. in Structural Engineering, an M.A. in Mathematics, and a Ph.D. in Engineering; he also has three years of Post-Doctorate study in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Nour-Omid serves on the Advisory Board of the School of Engineering at UCSD; on the Homeland Security Advisory Council; and on the Board of Directors of Conrad Foundation, Stephen S. Wise Temple, Milken Community High School, Friends of Assaf Harofe Medical Center, and Friends of Eliya.
