Director, Executive Office and Board Development
HIAS, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the oldest global humanitarian organization assisting Jewish and other refugees and immigrants with rescue, resettlement, and reunification, has an opportunity for an ambitious and strategic professional to provide support to the senior management. Reporting to the President & CEO and a member of the HIAS senior management team, the Director of the Executive Office and Board Development provides critical support to the work of the Board of Directors and the Executive Office at HIAS, advancing HIAS' mission through oversight, coordination, and implementation of a select set of strategic activities. The Director of the Executive Office and Board Development represents the President & CEO to external stakeholders, coordinates all strategic and governance activity of the Board of Directors, and is an essential member of major gift fundraising initiatives and major donor cultivation.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts (although a Master’s Degree is preferred) and a minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in Jewish communal service or non-profit organizations, including prior management experience. The successful candidate must have demonstrated skills interacting with donors and lay leaders; experience with budget development and strategic planning preferred. Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to the Jewish community, social justice, and organizational governance is also required; knowledge of issues related to immigration and refugee protection is desirable.
