Born in Berlin, Sonia Pressman Fuentes escaped the Holocaust with her family at the age of 5. Feeling that she had been saved for a reason, she dedicated her life to women's rights. After graduating from law school, she joined the newly-created Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and then became a founder of the National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1966.
