HIAS Advocacy Mission: October 6–7, 2013 in Washington, DC

In case you haven't already heard, this year's HIAS Advocacy Mission will take place October 6–7 in Washington, DC ... and this is the last week to apply!

Each year the HIAS Advocacy Mission is a chance for high-level stakeholders to engage with government officials and colleagues to discuss HIAS’ policy priorities and work around the world. Attending HIAS’ Advocacy Mission is a unique opportunity for leadership development, professional networking, and directly engaging with the work of HIAS.

This year, the Mission will include:

  • Meetings with officials from the White House, various government agencies, and the United Nations' refugee agency (UNHCR)
  • Briefings on international and domestic refugee issues including HIAS' role in protecting vulnerable populations
  • An interfaith panel event to discuss challenges and successes of welcoming newcomers into our communities

Applications are only being accepted through the end of this week, so don't hesitate—apply now. The cost of the Mission is $475, which includes transportation to and from all meetings/events, most meals, and materials. If cost is a barrier, you can fill out this supplemental application to help subsidize the cost of the Mission.
