Director, Executive Office & Board Development

Joanna Kabat is Director of the Executive Office and Board Development at the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. Until recently, Joanna held the position of Major Gifts and Board Development Officer at HIAS. Before joining the HIAS team, she worked at BBYO (B'nai B'rith Youth Organization) in Washington, DC in major gift fundraising and Board governance, and at American Jewish World Service in New York City as Executive Assistant to the President.

Joanna has worked professionally and personally to build a Jewish community centered around social justice and service. A graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, where she majored in Human Rights Studies and English Literature, Joanna is originally from Los Angeles and currently resides in New York City.
