Director, Board Development & Jewish Communal Engagement
Lisa Adler joined HIAS in April 2012 and serves as Director, Board Development & Jewish Communal Engagement. Ms. Adler has been working as a Jewish communal professional for more than 15 years in the areas of board and leadership development, volunteer training and recruitment, program development, and fundraising and transition management. Before assuming her position at HIAS, Ms. Adler was a Board Governance and Leadership Development Specialist for the Union for Reform Judaism, specializing in board trainings, synagogue management and rabbinic transition management. She also has worked at UJA-Federation of New York, The Melton Center for Jewish Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and Congregations B’nai Jeshurun and Anshe Hesed in New York City.
Ms. Adler graduated from the JTS/Columbia University dual degree program, receiving an MSW in social work administration from Columbia University and a Masters in Judaic studies from JTS with a minor in Jewish education. She received her Bachelors Degree in Jewish studies from New York University.
