Chair of the Board

Marc Silberberg is a senior partner in the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he is a member of the firm's Tax Department. Mr. Silberberg's practice principally focuses on the planning, negotiation and implementation of mergers, acquisitions and restructurings on behalf of publicly held companies, closely held companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies.

Mr. Silberberg joined the HIAS board in 2001. In addition to serving on the HIAS board, he also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the September 11th Families Association, which operates the Tribute WTC Visitor Center at the World Trade Center site, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Mr. Silberberg is a graduate of Northwestern University and the New York University School of Law. He and his wife, Barbara Julius, live in Manhattan, and they have two children.
