Rachel Zisman is the Immigration and Refugee Policy Intern for the summer of 2012 in HIAS’ DC office, focusing primarily on legislation and advocacy.
Currently a rising senior at Brandeis University, Rachel is majoring in Psychology and International and Global Studies. She decided to join HIAS after spending a semester in Denmark where she participated in an immigration-focused program. In her free time Rachel works towards building interfaith and intercultural understanding and communication.
Rachel enjoys exploring unfamiliar places and cultures, reading, running, and spending time with friends and family. In the future, Rachel would like to travel and work within the field of public health, preferably immigration-related health. She hopes to make a positive impact on the national and international level.
