House Hearing on the DREAM Act

On July 23, the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security held a hearing on the DREAM Act and the immigration status of illegal immigrants brought to this country as children. The Subcommittee’s Chair, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) emphasized the need for the juvenile legal system to rehabilitate rather than punish. Four additional congressmen served as witnesses to the hearing.
