Last week, Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) announced that he will not seek another term in the U.S. Senate. The son of immigrants himself, Senator Lautenberg has championed legislation that has created a safe escape route to freedom for thousands of members of persecuted religious minorities. Tzdakah, helping pepole help themselves. This was my teaching as a child and it continues today. I am touched to see that Mr. Brin is also sharing where once it was given. It is very hard to leave the eastern block countries, harder yet when one is older. Thank you HIAS and thank you Sergey for allowing more pepole to be successful. A mitzvah!
