Violence Against Women Act Reintroduced in Senate

On January 22nd, the first day that bills could be introduced in the 113th Congress, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Patrick Leahy (D-VT) reintroduced the bipartisan Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act along with Michael Crapo (R-ID) and ten other co-sponsors. The bill would strengthen programs that assist victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and includes provisions specifically aimed at protecting immigrants.
