HIAS Attends Jewish Life and Anti-Semitism Conference in Budapest

This week HIAS staff attended the Tom Lantos Institute conference on Jewish Life and Anti-Semitism in Contemporary Europe, which took place in the Hungarian Parliament building in Budapest. The conference addressed the alarming resurgence of anti-Semitism throughout Europe, as well as positive aspects of Jewish life in Europe including identity, culture, education, and interfaith dialogue. Keynote speakers included Dr. Anna-Mária Bíró, President and CEO of the Tom Lantos Institute; András Heisler, President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities; H.E. Mr. János Martonyi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary; and Ira Forman, the U.S. State Department’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism. Learn more.
