House Passes STEM Bill

Posted on Thu, Dec 06, 2012 at 16:28 pm

Last week the U.S. House of Representatives passed the STEM Jobs Act of 2012 (H.R. 6429), which would create a visa program for graduates of science, technology, engineering, and math post-secondary education programs by taking visas from the Diversity Visa Lottery program. "It pains me greatly that I cannot support this bill," said Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), who said that the bill would eventually result in fewer visas issued because far fewer than 50,000 degrees are given every year to foreigners in eligible STEM fields, and the bill does not allow unused visas to be transferred to other programs. The vote fell generally among party lines, with only five Republicans voting against the measure. The bill will now go to the Senate, where it is expected to fail. Learn more.

Hi Kate,The E3 visa doesn't really cost the emyepolr anything although many choose to you legal people anyway out of habit. All they have to do is file a simple one page form which can be done online and then provide you with that form confirmed by Department of Labor in US and an offer letter. All the rest is really stuff you do and pay for. Yes you certainly do need to find an emyepolr before obtaining the visa and you can only obtain the visa outside the US (unless transferring from another US visa but not Tourist status).Hope this helps.CJ

When I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four emails using the same comment. Is there any way it is easy to get rid of me from that service? Thanks! lululemon http://www.buylululemonoutlet.com/
