White House Announces Refugee Admissions for Fiscal Year 2014

Today the White House released its annual memo to the Department of State announcing how many refugees may be admitted to the U.S. through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program for Fiscal Year 2014. This year’s Presidential Determination allow the State Department to resettle 70,000 refugees of special humanitarian concern to the United States. Of these 15,000 may come from Africa; 14,000 from East Asia; 1,000 from Europe and Central Asia; 5,000 from Latin America and the Caribbean; and 33,000 from the Near East and South Asia.
