HuffPost covered the Obama administration's announcement that it will institute a case-by-case review of deportations, allowing some undocumented immigrants without criminal records to stay in the United States and apply for work permits.

In addition to allowing low-priority cases to be closed so immigration courts can focus on the most serious ones, the policy will provide for guidance for immigration enforcement agents to better detect serious criminals and other high-priority undocumented immigrants.
