Young Leaders

Who are HIAS Young Leaders?
HIAS Young Leaders is a dedicated community of young professionals and graduate students hailing from as far away as Iran and the former Soviet Union and as close by as the Americas. We are joined together to help advance HIAS' mission of rescue, reunion and resettlement of Jewish and other migrants.

What We Do
HIAS Young Leaders further the organization’s mission in the following ways:

Community Service: We plan and participate in ongoing and one-time volunteer opportunities to assist Jewish and other refugees in need, both locally and abroad.

Event Planning/Fundraising: We plan happy hours, bi-annual benefit parties, and other social gatherings that offer opportunities for young professionals and graduate students from around the world to mix, mingle and schmooze, while supporting HIAS’ mission in the process.

Advocacy/Education: We rally for the cause of humanitarian and just immigration policies. We make our voice heard through national letter writing campaigns and advocacy missions to Washington DC, where we meet with key legislators and community leaders. Facilitate film screenings and panel discussions to educate the public on immigrant and refugee issues and celebrate their contributions to our society. Take Action on Advocacy Now.
