Francine S. Stein
Frankie Stein is senior advisor at HIAS, advising the organization on governance, management, and program operations.
Frankie is an accomplished executive with over three decades of experience in public policy, financial management, fundraising, and health care operations. As a consultant, she has provided her expertise to organizations such as EngenderHealth; Planned Parenthood Federation of America and numerous affiliates; Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health; Head Start; the National Council of Churches, American Jewish Committee; and the U.S. departments of Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, and Labor.
For more than 30 years, Frankie was president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, the ninth largest comprehensive reproductive health care agency in the nation. During her tenure, she transformed single service clinics into a comprehensive network of med-surgical centers and managed a network of 16 licensed diagnostic and treatment centers.
Earlier in her career, Frankie served as vice president of development for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where she led a development program that generated more than $70 million dollars of support annually for both charitable and political activities.
Frankie holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in government and religion from Barnard College. In addition to numerous awards throughout her career, in 2008 Barnard recognized Frankie’s lifelong contributions to women and civil rights with the Millicent Carey McIntosh Award for Feminism.
