Jewish groups across the country marked Tisha b’Av, the traditional Jewish day of mourning, on August 10-11 with vigils and protests to demand an end to the mistreatment of immigrants and refugees.
Led by a coalition of organizations, including National Council of Jewish Women, T’ruah, the RAC, J Street, Bend the Arc and HIAS, hundreds gathered in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Charlotte, Philadelphia and many other cities to express sorrow and pledge to take action against the current refugee and asylum crises.
