HIAS Action DC: Special Exhibition Tour at the U.S Holocaust Memorial Museum

100 Raoul Wallenberg Pl SW
(15th St SW Entrance)
Washington, DC 20024
United States

Please join us for a private tour of a new special exhibition at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Americans and the Holocaust, followed by a discussion.

Americans and the Holocaust tells the story of how Americans from all walks of life -- from the FDR Administration and Congress to the military, media, and individual citizens -- responded to the rise of Nazism and the persecution of Europe’s Jews. Five years in the making, this is the first ever exhibit to take a panoramic look at the motives, pressures, and fears that shaped Americans’ responses to Nazism, the war, and the persecution of Jews in Europe during the 1930s and ‘40s. It also profiles those brave people who risked their lives to save victims of Nazi persecution and the inspiring rescue work of organizations like HIAS.
