Jewish Action for Refugees: Community Havdalah

3935 Macomb Street NW
Washington, DC 20016
United States

At this critical moment when the future of America's commitment to refugees hangs in the balance, the Jewish community of Washington DC is coming together to stand up for refugees fleeing violence and persecution. Join with congregations and individuals from across the city for a special evening Havdalah service* and make your voice heard.

Co-sponsored by HIAS, the global refugee organization of the Jewish community, Washington Hebrew Congregation, and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, the evening will include speakers, readings, songs, and action to remember our refugee past and show support for welcoming today’s refugees.

Come raise up a strong Jewish voice for refugees and recognize the many people whose lives are at risk if they are unable to find safety here in this country.

RSVP encouraged but not required.

*Havdalah is the ceremony to transition from the Sabbath to the rest of the week
