A Jewish Response to Refugees - Learning from the Past, Rising to the Moment
This event is free and open to the public
Over the last year, the number of refugees and displaced people has grown to more than 68 million people – more than any time in history. Mothers across the globe are risking everything to guide their families to safety, just as our own mothers did. Jewish experiences and values connect us to these most vulnerable people.
Join us at a service this Mother’s Day Shabbat as we welcome Rabbi Rachel Grant Meyer, Rabbi-in-Residence at HIAS, who will explore Jewish immigration, the current global refugee crisis, and how Jewish values and history guide us today.
