The State of our Immigration System: Local & National Perspectives

12:00pm ET
United States

Event Description

Amidst confusing and sometimes conflicting reports on the current status of our immigration system, it is hard to know what the reality is on the ground for immigrants and asylum seekers. But we know that the U.S. asylum system remains broken and the status of millions of immigrants and refugees is still in limbo, with often devastating impact on our immigrant neighbors here in Greater Boston. Join us for a deep dive into the current landscape to examine the work on the ground and how we can best support our partners in this moment.

Featuring: Eva Millona, President and CEO of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) and incoming Assistant Secretary for Partnership and Engagement at the Department of Homeland Security, Pastor Dieufort Jean Fleurissaint (“Pastor Keke”), President of the True Alliance Center, and Rebecca Kirzner, Senior Director of Grassroots Campaigns at HIAS.
