National Jews for Refugees Assembly

Event Description
This Hanukkah, on December 14, join HIAS for our first-ever National Jews for Refugees Assembly. This will be an opportunity for individuals, congregations, rabbis, organizations, and elected officials committed to refugees and asylum seekers to come together for an hour of learning and action. We will hear from actor and activist, Mandy Patinkin, and refugee advocate, Teklit Michael. Together, we will shine the light of welcome from our homes across the country and around the world. With music from award-winning Jewish performance and ritual artist, Shira Kline, we will light the candles together, so bring your hanukkiyah and get ready to celebrate a return to our values of welcome, dignity, and safety for all.
We are ready for the hard work of restoring refugee resettlement and rebuilding safe and humane asylum protections in the U.S. Harnessing the power of the American Jewish movement for refugees, let’s raise our collective voice with hope and focus for the work ahead.
Because Zoom meetings have a participant limit, we are able to accommodate the first 300 participants in the Zoom meeting itself.
If you are unable to access through Zoom please click here to join us on Facebook Live (no registration needed).
