The Sabrin family migrated from Vilna to Bad Turkheim, Germany after the liberation in 1945.We then were brought to NYC by the HIAS.I was almost seven years when we arrived, my brother, my Mom and DadWe were greeted by a member of the HIAS in NYC and were given housing at a hotel downtown.My vision was what a country, it was great.My dad got a job and we found a cold water flat on E 8th St between A&B.After a few years, our cousins from the Bronx moved to Colorado and we fortunate to get their Apt in the Bronx. (Burnside and Harrison Ave)My Dad, Abraham, wasa commander in the uprising in Vilna against the Nazis.I am in the process of writing his memoires and adding my memories from postWar Germany to today.
