No thanks (or already on HIAS list)
HIAS currently works with a generous network of pro bono attorneys in New York City* and Silver Spring, Maryland, who have agreed to represent one or more of HIAS’ clients in an asylum case, or who have assisted HIAS attorneys with drafting filings for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. (SIJS) Pro bono attorneys receive ongoing support from HIAS attorneys expert in asylum and SIJS. HIAS also provides pro bonos with connections to its wide network of social services partners so that pro bonos’ clients can benefit from other resources while their cases are pending.
At this time, HIAS’ pro bono program is at capacity and not accepting new applications from individuals interested in pro bono representation. Please stay tuned for announcements in the Fall 2018 about new opportunities for solo practitioners and law firms across a wider array of immigration law activities.
If any firm or organization is interested in establishing a long-term pro bono relationship with HIAS, please contact Managing Attorney Megan Brody at Megan.Brody@hias.org with “Pro Bono Program Partnership” in the subject line.
*HIAS’ Pro Bono Program in New York City would not be possible without the generous support of the New York Bar Foundation.
