Sign up for our August Advocacy Week!

From August 15th-19th, HIAS is inviting congregations and communities to join us to meet with members of Congress. During these August Recess meetings, we aim to impress upon them the urgency and importance of ensuring the rights, safety, and dignity of refugees, asylum seekers, and those with humanitarian parole.

There are three stages to this project:

  1. Sign up and assemble your team:
Fill out the below form to participate and then reach out to other leaders in your community to build a team of people to meet with your members of Congress. You will get resources from us, including talking points on key issues, notes on how to structure your meeting, and an invitation to a training and gathering happening Wednesday, July 27 at 3pm ET. Are you an individual that wants to participate? Great! Fill out the form to get our resources to join us.

  2. Meeting Request:
Your congregation or organization will reach out to your members of Congress to request a meeting with a few representatives from your community.

  3. Congressional Meeting:
You’ll hold the meeting (HIAS will provide suggested talking points), making sure that your member of Congress understands current refugee and asylum issues, and the ongoing commitment of their constituents to working for a more welcoming country.

Please fill out this form to sign up.
